From Farm to Fork

The “Farm to Fork” concept is all about creating a more sustainable food system. It involves several key stages:

  1. Production: Growing crops and raising livestock on farms.
  2. Processing: Turning raw agricultural products into food items.
  3. Distribution: Transporting food from farms to markets or stores.
  4. Retail: Selling food to consumers through grocery stores, farmers’ markets, or directly from farms.
  5. Consumption: Preparing and eating the food at home or in restaurants.

This approach aims to reduce the distance food travels, minimise environmental impact and support local economies. It’s a great way to ensure fresher, healthier, sustainable food.
