Harvest bring & share community lunch

October 20 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join the West Northamptonshire Sustainable Food Network for a community lunch celebrating the journey of food from seed to plate, and the amazing work taking place across West Northamptonshire’s food community.

Tuesday 20 October, 12–2pm | Atrium OAS

Bring along a dish that tells a story, perhaps something you’ve grown, a family recipe or tradition, locally produced ingredients, or something that supports healthy or sustainable eating. You’re also very welcome to simply come along with your lunch and enjoy the event, you don’t need to bring food to attend.

There’s no need to register if you’re bringing food. Just turn up on the day and bring your dish along. Shop-bought food is welcome too, although we’re encouraging people to support independent local shops rather than supermarkets when choosing what to bring.

When you arrive, food brought for the sharing table will be collected by the event team. Please bring a list of the ingredients in your dish where possible. Food will be clearly labelled with ingredients and allergens, with separate tables for different foods to help everyone enjoy the lunch safely.

There will also be hot vegetable soup available to buy from the coffee shop, made using rescued local food.

Meet local partners

Come along and meet organisations working to create a healthier, fairer and more sustainable food system across West Northamptonshire. There will be representatives from West Northamptonshire Council’s Waste, Sustainability, Healthy Schools, Rain Project, Library Service and Menopause Forum teams, alongside:

  • Good Food Network
  • Grow Cook Eat
  • Restore
  • Tellus Mater
  • Countryside Kitchen
  • Northamptonshire ACRE

You’ll also have the opportunity to find out more about local food projects, share ideas and connect with others who are passionate about good food.

As part of the event, we’ll be inviting attendees to make a Good Food pledge about how they can play their part in the good food movement. You’ll be able to sign your pledge on the day and have your photo taken.

All are welcome, even if you don’t bring food!
