At the University of Northampton, we gathered to celebrate the launch of the West Northants Sustainable Food Network — a community-driven initiative committed to reshaping how we grow, source, and share food across the region.
The event brought together a vibrant mix of stallholders and speakers, each representing a vital piece of the sustainability puzzle. From organic growers and regenerative farmers to ethical retailers and food educators, the message was clear: the journey from farm to fork can nourish both people and planet.
Visitors explored stalls from those working to make food systems fairer and greener. It wasn’t just about what we eat — it was about how it’s grown, who grows it, and the impact it leaves behind.
Speakers from across sectors shared insights into the challenges and opportunities of building a resilient food network. Topics ranged from soil health and food justice to the power of collaboration in tackling food poverty and climate change.
Why It Matters – The Sustainable Food Network is more than an event — it’s a movement. As outlined our site, the network aims to connect communities, support local producers, and empower people to make informed, nutritious choices. It’s about creating a food system that works for everyone — one that’s rooted in fairness, health, and sustainability.
This launch was just the beginning. With every conversation sparked and every connection made, we’re one step closer to a future where good food is accessible, ethical, and celebrated.
